Be presents... Man Like Me, My Toys Like Me June 6, 2009

Since Proud Galleries re-launched in 2008, Be has been their flagship club-night attracting up to fifteen hundred revellers every Saturday. Now in its second year the club has redefined London's club scene with its unique mix of indie, disco electro and rock n' roll, spectacular live acts, performance art and burlesque.

This Saturday catch live sets from Camden’s finest homegrown garage/ska/electro/grime trio Man Like Me, and electro pop upstarts My Toys Like Me, whilst joining residents David H & John Power on the decks are rising electro pop stars We Have Band.

In the South Gallery The Non-Stop Electric Cabaret will continue to amuse and amaze in equal measure. Curated by London's celebrated sassy Burlesque artist Miss Vicky Butterfly and accompanied by a vintage rock n roll jukebox from Stables Market stall holder, Bioux, expect a parade of the most weird and the wonderful burlesque acts London has to offer.

About: Man Like Me
Man Like Me are a cheekily astounding electro-pop trio who are taking the UK music scene by storm. Hailed as ‘the best damn live act you are ever likely to see’, this quirky foursome have a unique sound forged from grime, electro, ska, hip hop and funk, proving they’re truly are one the most exciting crossover acts in the UK today.

Jonny Langer, Peter Duffy and Jerome Trombone tear up the various rule books, whilst still neatly paralleling the likes of Mike Skinner and Lady Sovereign. The act was formed in 2005 by lead vocalist and song writer Johnny Langer, the group’s audaciously talented front man. Johnny & Peter met at the back of history lessons in 1997 whilst at school. Jerome, the latest addition to the band, was found and brought to dry land after being discovered on one of his cruise ships in the Atlantic to help complete the current setup.

About: We Have Band
We Have Band are a do it yourself 3-piece that encompass the grooves of Talking Heads and the best bits of Hot Chip. It's very 80s and danceable, entering this side of the New Wave. They push it further by concentrating on the layering of synths and drums and are great at balancing pop hooks with exciting rhythms.
