Bathing the Buddha Dharma Assembly

To celebrate the holy birthday of Sakyamuni Buddha, Bathing the Buddha Dharma Assembly will be held by United International World Buddhism Headquarters, Hua Zang Si in San Francisco, and Sanger Mission on Sunday, April 26th, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in the Sakyamuni Buddha Hall at Hua Zang Si in San Francisco. At this Dharma Assembly, we will beseech Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to bless all living beings, bring peace to the world, free living beings from disasters and misfortune, and help them attain happiness!

Bathing the Buddha statue will bring you great merit. As stated in a Buddhist sutra: "After the Buddha entered Nirvana, you recite the holy name of the Buddha while you bathe the statue of the Buddha as if he were present. As long as good believers perform the bathing the Buddha statue ritual with the greatest reverence, it will not only cause their body and spirit to reach a pure and solemn state but also cause them to obtain great virtues and good health in their next life. Their parents and families from seven life times will be blessed with wholesome happiness and good fortune. The merit of bathing the Buddha statue will cause them to be free of attachments, which will facilitate their condition in attaining the enlightenment of a Buddha."

The merit obtained from bathing the Buddha statue will empower everyone to increase his wisdom, good fortune and well being. We sincerely invite all good believers to attend this wonderful event and share the joy of the Dharma.
