We're kicking off 2008 with a bang and we've invited two bay area party rockers to throw down with us at our first Bassdrop for the new year. On the decks will be Audio1 and Aleks, alongside your favorite EB residents.


Audio1
(Social Seen / Primary Element)

The original b-boy known as Audio1 digs deep to take you to the roots & soul of the Hip-Hop culture, giving the listener an eclectic mix of classics old and new, with b-sides, exclusives, and old skool breaks blended to perfection with shaolin b-boy techniques. While his roots are in Hip-Hop, Audio1 is more well known as one of the top jungle DJs on the West Coast. He combines precise cuts, scratches, and beat juggling with fast paced mixing covering diverse styles from ragga and hardstep amens to grinding techstep with a healthy dose of futuristic b-boy styles thrown in for good measure. You can spot him with his partners in crime, DJ Greg J, Kevin Kind and/or DJ Ajax, as they take you on a journeys thru HipHop, Rock, Mashups, R&B, Crunk, Hyphy, House, Baltimore Club, 80s & Old School party jams.

Aleks
(Nocturnalism / A10 Recordings)

While most 12 year olds are busy playing video games and thinking what after-school sport they might want to try, Aleks took hold of his first set of turntables and grew up on the decks. Collecting records throughout adolescence, his music tastes quickly grew towards electronic music and began playing Breakbeats, and later branched out to include UK Hardhouse, Techno, and NRG. He continued to grow a name for himself all over Central California, producing his own club nights from 1998-2000.

Aleks has played with some of Northern California's best production companies with top billing like TELIC, Audio Metamorphosis, Sound Asylum, Preserve, Stilldream, OmniEra and Nocturnalism Entertainment. Although Aleks has now been DJing for over half his life, he has taken his love for music to the next level by producing his own tracks. Check out a wide variety of his work, ranging from breaks to hardhouse & everything in between here.
