Basic Legal Issues for Non-Married Couples June 11, 2008

There are many reasons why couples make a life together without being married, but many of them face similar legal questions about how to protect themselves, their families and their property. This workshop, led by attorney Hertsel Shadian, will walk unmarried couples through the basics of what they need to know about setting up an official partnership outside of marriage. The four main topics covered will be:

* Medical guardianship;
* Custody issues;
* Property rights; and
* Passing on of assets.
