Band Of Puppets Fest November 11, 2010

Band of Puppets Fest will feature short new work from 6 selected puppetry artists working within the creative theme of "the golden age of music videos".

Our artists are building pieces in the style of the early MTV mini rock epics, such as "Thriller" and "Like a Prayer", where a broader scope of narrative supports the musical material. This is an annual festival, and each year, the theme will be based on the repertoire of a different band/musician who's music is visual and inspiring. For our premier festival, we will be working with music from the David Bowie, and each artist will be presenting a new 10 minute piece based on a selected song from his discography.

Our goal with this new festival is to unite the aural landscape of music with the visual expression of puppetry. We believe that the fusion of performance and music will serve to unify each artist's work within the festival, creating a lively yet cohesive evening of performances for our audience.
