Bamboo Demonstration August 10, 2008

How many ways do you use bamboo? Join us from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm as David Flanagan offers a “show-and-tell” of all things bamboo. Learn about a variety of different bamboo species from the very small to the very tall. See the different tools that are used to cut and split the strong stalks. Discover the many ways that bamboo can be used in daily life, not just as a decorative plant, but also in construction for buildings, bridges, and fences. See how bamboo can be made into cloth; listen as it is used as an instrument; and even taste bamboo shoots.
