Ballots and Palates - Free Sammiches in a Free Country with a Freeloader! November 4, 2008

"Don't be a dork. Eat some pork." is now the official slogan for Jimmy John's new Ultimate Porker sandwich. The slogan is my brain child and my reward for being such a wordsmith is free sammiches for 30 of my closest friends.

Jimmy John's will also provide chips and cookies. Because of the impromptu-ness of this, please BYOB. I'll have some suds to share, but if there is something else you would like to partake of, bring it along. Also, any other snacks are welcome. (I told you I was a freeloader.)

We'll tune in to election results and maybe play some video games...if any of my consoled friends show up with a system. (hinting)

I do have one request. I am happy to feed you, but in return I would love it if you could help me feed the less fortunate of Des Moines. In September I tried to have a party to collect canned goods for DMARC's food bank. Due to a personal loss, I had to cancel the party and was unable to make a donation. If you are so inclined, please bring a non-perishable item from the list below so I can feed more than just 30 people. Everybody should get to eat.

So, come one, come all! Despite the fact that I am pretty much constantly stuffing my face, I cannot eat 30 sammiches on my own. Uncle Sam needs your vote and I need your appetite. Cast your ballot and then tempt your palate.
