Boston's Back Bay: Making Land & Making History

Join Boston By Foot for its event of the year - a 5-hour Labor Day walking tour of Boston's Back Bay. This tour will trace the history of the Back Bay from its swampy origin to a showcase of Victorian Second Empire and Italianate architecture through a mammoth 30 year land-making project in the 19th century. This tour will feature the Public Garden, Bay Village, Copley Square, the Commonwealth Mall and Newbury Street in Boston. A must for lovers of Victorian architecture.
