Two of the most popular brands in the world are making a strong statement in one of the world's fastest growing markets. Apple and Google are using the mobile platform to redefine the capabilities of technology, commerce, and everyday living. However, several other players are becoming involved in this dynamic market at a critical time due to the country's current economic situation.

The Awesome Inc. Mobile Mini-Conference will be the first of many initiatives by the organization working to bring a reputatable technology presence to the midwest. The conference will feature presentations by Noah Kagan of Facebook Mobile, Markus Spiering of Yahoo! Blueprint, and Brendan Lim of Intridea Inc.

For those attendees unfamiliar with the iPhone development platform, we will have workshops designed to teach and showcase the premier features of the device. Since many attendees will already have experience developing for the phone, we also plan to offer talks on how current developers can get more out of their code.

Alongside our technical discussions and workshops, we will also be reaching out to non-technical attendees with talks about mobile applications, the direction certain companies are taking, and the future of the market. There will also be booths setup for local and national companies to showcase their work. Since there are so many important stakeholders involved, our goal is to provide something for everyone.

At the conclusion of the event, there will be a mobile application pitch contest that is open to all attendees. However, it is required that attendees submit their ideas through the web form at http://www.mobile.awesomeinc.org prior to the event date. The winner of the pitch contest will be awarded an Apple iPod Touch!
