Avenged Sevenfold, Enter Shikari December 7, 2007

Avenged Sevenfold effectively annihilates the distinction between punk and metal. The band eschews punk's loud-fast rules but artfully combines punk rock with melody, metal's white-knuckle intensity and powerful wails of unflinching lyrics and an adventurous spirit. The Southern California based Atreyu has a sound which Revolver calls "an emotionally charged fusion of screaming metallic hardcore and catchy breakdowns."

Enter Shikari are a British post-hardcore band, which makes heavy use of synthesised sound effects.
