Author Philip Gulley speaking--Porch Tales and Harmony Series January 30, 2009

First Christian Church of Naples (1789 Mandarin Road) is excited to host the well known authors, Philip Gulley and James Mulholland. Phil’s wit and charming storytelling has been compared to Garrison Keillor. His Harmony series and Porch Talk series have received rave reviews. Jim has challenged readers with his fresh look at the Lord’s Prayer in the book, Praying Like Jesus. These two longtime friends have collaborated on two thought provoking and often controversial books (a third coming), If Grace is True and If God is Love. In these books, the authors confront and ultimately reject the belief that a loving God would condemn anyone to hell. Whether you agree with their final conclusion or not, you will find your understanding of God’s grace being pushed to the limits. On Friday, January 30, Philip Gulley will give readings from his Harmony series. Doors open at 6:30pm, with the presentation beginning at 7pm. On Saturday, Phil and Jim will offer insights on their two collaborative books as well as a third book to be released later this year, If the Church were Christian.
