Canadian songwriter Katie Stelmanis joined forces with Maya Postepski and Dorian Wolf to create Austra, which will open for Cold Cave in August at the Bowery Ballroom. Austra just released its debut album, Feel it Break, in Canada in May and it will be released later this summer in the US. The album was named as a longlisted Nominee for the 2011 Polaris Prize (the complete list of nominees is featured in this edition of the Upper North Side).
