Named after the clear-singing rooster in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, Chanticleer is frequently called “an orchestra of voices.”

The multiple Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble will be performing the seductive and irresistible songs of the sirens – sometimes fateful, sometimes fatal fill Chanticleer’s 35th anniversary program. Renowned Chinese composer Chen Yi sounds the call in her own inimitable language, and celebrated Irish composer, Michael McGlynn channels the voices of the Irish Sea fairies. With these world premieres will be works by Bates, Palestrina, Barber, Corigliano and more.

Billboard magazine rated Chanticleer as their Top 10 best-selling classical artists, and they were inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame in 2008. Chanticleer won two Grammy’s in 2000 for Best Small Ensemble Performance and the Contemporary a Cappella Recording Award for Best Classical Album.

“The singing of Chanticleer is breathtaking in its accuracy of intonation, purity of blend, variety of color and swagger of style.” – The Boston Globe

“The World’s reigning male chorus.” – The New Yorker

“Chanticleer fascinates and enthralls for much the same reason a fine chocolate or a Rolls Royce does:

through luxurious perfection.” – Los Angeles Times
