The New York Society for Ethical Culture Public Issues Committee (PIC) invites you to a cabaret-style showing of At the Death House Door. The film is an intimate look at the death penalty in the state of Texas through the eyes of Pastor Carroll Pickett, who served 15 years as the death house chaplain to the infamous "Walls" prison unit in Huntsville. During Pickett's remarkable career journey, he presided over 95 executions, including the world's first lethal injection. After each execution, Pickett recorded an audiotape account of his trip to the death chamber. The film will be followed by a discussion with Colleen Eren of Amnesty International. Admission is a suggested donation of $10 to New Yorkers Against the Death Penalty and PIC and includes popcorn and two beers. for more information, contact 212-874-5210x144.
