Direct from Brazil, Ashtar combine various musical genres and a diversity of instruments, blending progressive rock with metal and celtic folk.

Ashtar's debut album, 'Urantia', released in 2002, received much critical acclaim and, a successful tour of Europe in 2004, culminated in the band lifting two Classic Rock Society Awards.

In 2005, the band performed at the famous "Baja Prog Festival" in Mexico, and went on to tour the UK, Holland and Switzerland, headlining many festivals and gigs.

Ashtar have played along side Mostly Autumn, Karnataka, Wishbone Ash, Carl Palmer, Taal and Anathema to name just a few, and the band recently recorded their first official DVD in Brazil, along with a 'live' cd from the same gig (released 2006). Their second studio album, "From The Otherside", is also due for release in 2006.
