The second biennial ARTWalk ARTAuction and Grand Exhibit kicks off the spring with one evening to remember in the heart of the Neighborhood of the Arts district. On Friday, April 25th from 7 to 11 p.m., over 75 local artists and businesses have donated artwork, products, services, and gift certificates to be auctioned at this fundraising event for ARTWalk.

Filling over 60,000 square feet, the Auction features hundreds of works on display. Hosted in the new loft spaces at the Village Gate, each room offers an intimate area to exhibit art and a with an entertainment stage to enjoy live music and dance performances of a latin and jazz flavor. Special performances are by Janet Beaman and Te Naj, Borinquen Dance Theatre with Nydia Padilla-Rodriquez and Orquesta Antonetti.

Artists represented in the auction and silent auction include award-wining designer and illustrator Frank Argento, Courtney Gruttadauraia, on for Rochester Insider Magazines eight to watch in 08 and Pyramid Arts and Literatures January 08 featured artist, Cheryl Amati Martin, one of the few remaining photographers who hand colors black & white originals, legendary sculptor Achille Forgione, world-renowned painter and teacher Steve Carpenter, distinguished painter and community activist Maria Friske, nationally celebrated mixed-media artist Jill Gussow, renowned sculpture Peter Macon, and prominent painter Colleen Schreiner, and the professional artists collective, the Arena Group.

Another section of the exhibit is a juried selection of emerging artists, which include Christopher Bacon, Megan Carapezz, Harold Cop, Jason Crane, Michaela Cultrara, Barbara Fox, and Adam Heckle, Lisa Romanowski, Crystal Jackel, Phillip Light-Goff, Kate Lipsky, David Majchrzak, Mark Rice, Adrian Tucker, Robin Uline, Mike Weintraub, Jennifer Woodworth, Ariane Wrobel, and the Community Arts Connection.

The event underwriters of Stern Properties, Gallo Displays, and ARTWalk have joined forces to present this event. Also in support of this event is the honorary committee, which includes Mayor Bob Duffy, Senator James Alesi, Jimmy Catalano, Charlotte Clark, Lois Giess, Roz Goldman, Suzanne Gouvernet, Jennifer Leonard, Sandra A. Parker, Bill Pritchard, Curtis Rivers, and Friedericke Seligman.
