?Courtesan Tales?
Through May 29th
By appointment only

Nicole Blackman's notorious ?Courtesan Tales? are "tales of the senses" told to one blind-folded audience member at a time.

Blending fairy tales, lap-dances and haunted house stories, the thirteen ?Courtesan Tales? are romantic, mysterious, erotic, chilling, and nostalgic, and have left listeners from LA to the UK shaken and stirred, moved, enlightened, provoked and amused, all without ever seeing the artist herself.

The stories have attracted a following at performance art events, absinthe parties and S&M parties in New York and LA.

?I like that they are blindfolded and trusting me to do whatever I like to them, so I find the customers entertain me as much as I entertain them,? Blackman says. ?I call it the 'ostrich effect' because people will do the most extraordinary things when they can't see you....because they think you can't see them either, so it's 'safe' in the dark? How do I explain their allure? Everyone likes to be told a story. Everyone likes to be touched. Everyone likes a mystery."
