FINAL 2005 INSTALLATION ART TOUR
KICKS OFF NEW SCION GALLERY

The 2005 edition of Scion?s innovative art tour, Installation, which showcases cutting edge street artists from around the country, is coming to a close this month in Los Angeles. But where one creative endeavor ends, another begins with the opening of Scion?s Installation Los Angeles gallery.

The closing Installation event, to take place in October over three uniquely different evenings, also marks the grand opening of Scion?s brand new 3,100 square foot gallery art space. Located in the center of the burgeoning arts district in Culver City, Installation Los Angeles will continue to present exhibits on a monthly basis even after the tour has ended. Events at the gallery will be curated by noted painters and designers including David Choe Saber, and Upper Playground.

?Gallery exhibits are the path to legitimacy for artists,? says Jeri Yoshizu, Scion sales promotions manager. ?Scion views the Installation Los Angeles gallery as a great way to help increase career opportunities for street artists.?

This month?s series of gatherings are sure to provide an exciting kick off for the space, with artwork from both up-and-comers and established artists including Futura, Kenny Scharf and David Choe among others. The events are scheduled as follows:

Friday October 14th, 8-11pm: Installation Tour 2005 Private Reception for Artists and Press.

Appetizers and drinks will be served along with music provided by Al Jackson.

Also at all three events, will be an open canvas roll display, on which artists in attendance will be painting and drawing. Individual 8x10 pieces of the large scroll will be available for sale at $20, with proceeds also going to the above charities.
