Thomasina Ouellette

Thomasina Ouellette is a native Richmonder, who grew up in and around the beauty of Maymont Park and the eclectic atmosphere of Carytown and the Fan area. She is as impressive as her visible brush strokes on canvas. Her personality is that of a lively, intelligent and very approachable individual with a keen comedic perception that has created lifelong friendships.
Thomasina is a commissioned artist, who is first and foremost an accomplished musician. Her wide range of taste in music translates to an artistic flow on canvas. She is often heard saying, "I could never paint without music." She is an avid movie buff and has been influenced tremendously by both international and American films; portraits of personalities as well as landscapes sometimes reveal these influences. Her travels throughout South America, England, and many areas of the United States have served as great inspirations and have certainly enhanced her artistic view.
Thomasina's first experience with art came during her elementary school years. Later, she was greatly influenced by friend and accomplished sculptor, Paul diPasquale, who recognized her talent as more than just doodling, and encouraged her to forge ahead. Her first professional art show was seen at Richmond's Pine Camp. Recent works have been displayed and sold at a Riverside, California, antiques gallery. While her paintings have received accolades from many, she is also a creative crafter using wood, metal, and glass, as well as having a unique eye to bring new life to old and worn objects. It is not surprisng that one of her aspirations and maybe even her next goal is to become a sculptor.
