Art and About October 16, 2007

See the City at its best for three weeks during Art & About, a feast of art exhibitions and events presented by the City of Sydney. Day and night, indoors and out, the City will be alive with works by local and international artists, including a wonderful photography exhibition in Hyde Park North and exciting large-scale sculptures near Circular Quay.

New and ground-breaking this year is the Live Lanes project, which sees three under-used city laneways rejuvenated with art, bars, music and festive lighting. They’re a test run for the City’s more ambitious plan to re-make more lanes on a permanent level.

Everyone is invited to the launch celebration on Friday 5 October at 6pm in Customs House Square. There’ll be live entertainment and the launch of another new festival high-light, Child’s Eye 2030, the projection of children’s paintings and poems about the future onto the wall of the AMP Building.
