10205 Lorain Ave
Cleveland, Ohio

PD announcement:
The second in a series of tours of Northeast Ohio Roman Catholic churches is set for Saturday. Architectural historian Tim Barrett will lead a tour of St. James Cathedral, 17514 Detroit Ave., starting at 10 a.m.; and a tour of St. Ignatius of Antioch, 10205 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, starting at 12 noon.

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland is closing dozens of churches across the region, which makes the tours timely. St. Ignatius was originally identified as one of those to be closed, but Bishop Richard Lennon recently reversed the decision. St. Colman in Cleveland was also spared. St. James is still identified as among the churches to be closed.

Both churches on Saturday's tour were designed by Boston architect Edward T. Graham in the 1920s.

The tours, which will continue at intervals over the next few months, are sponsored by the Ohio and Erie Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America. Call 216-631-0557 for information.
