'Strange and Beautiful,' the first Aqualung single, was released in the UK in September 2002. The song had more or less released itself, having been used in a Volkswagen Beetle commercial during that summer. It sparked many a phone call to TV stations, Volkswagen dealers and radio stations, trying to find out who was responsible for the music. That's where it took off. Since then, Aqualung (AKA Matt Hales) has been a critic's pick and has already toured with the likes of Coldplay and The Shins. Aqualung's followup is 'Memory Man.'
