During April's Reality Theatre month, BATS welcomes special guest 3 For All for the first weekend, followed by 3 weekends of the directed improv format, including The Life Game; Director's Cut!; and The News Show.

3 FOR ALL: The popular improv trio (Rafe Chase, Stephen Kearin, Tim Orr) return to the Bayfront Theater for two nights only! Don't miss the group the critics call "brilliant...hilarious...a must-see!"

The Life Game: This show proves that EVERYONE has a story worth telling! An audience volunteer will be interviewed about his/her life. (Don't worry...you won't be pulled out of the crowd or put on the spot unless you want to be!) Our actors will improvise scenes inspired by the information revealed. Some of the questions will be easy and others will be more probing. It won't be 60 Minutes, silly comedy or psychodrama, just theatrical, evocative and fun!

Director's Cut!: This format includes directors battling it out to guide their actors toward realizing a unique theatrical vision. Each director creates and sets the tone for the improvisers' scene, the end of which is voted by the audience as either a hit or a flop. The director with the most hits by the end of the night will win the coveted Director's Cup. But there's a catch - each director gets a total of only 13 minutes TOTAL to tell their stories--regardless of how many turns they take. "Director's Cut" promises to be a fast-paced, anything goes night of improv not to be missed!

The News Show: A little bit Mort Sahl, a little bit "Daily Show," and a lot of improvisation, The News Show is a night of improvised scenes based on real-life stories from the news papers of the world. Articles are chosen by performers and audience alike - so come early, grab a paper, and be a part of the magic that happens when real news meets real improv.

$15-20.
