Anoushka Shankar is the only person in the world who can claim to have been entirely trained by her father, legendary sitar virtuoso, Ravi Shankar. She comes to the PAC Series with her new “Rise” program, which boasts a new band comprised of eastern and western virtuosos that complement Anoushka and the global bonds of her sound. With both acoustic and electric instruments such as the traditional Indian tabla, flute, piano, synthesizer, voice, and sitar, Anoushka’s music transcends genre boundaries and appeals to cultures throughout the world.
