She has smitten audiences around the globe with her exquisite artistry and graceful elegance, securing her position as one of the most sought-after violinists of our time.

Early in her career, Von Karajan pronounced Anne-Sophie Mutter “the greatest young musical talent since Menuhin,” and now, as soloist and leading the brilliantly high-spirited Camerata Salzburg, she brings with her the glorious music of Bach in her Krannert Center Great Hall debut performance.

The program will feature Mutter in Bach’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in A Minor, BWV 1041 and Violin Concerto No. 2 in E Major, BWV 1042, and she will be joined by her protégé Vilde Frang in the composer’s Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, BWV 1043.

Mutter, who performs alternately on her 1703 “Emiliani” and her 1710 “Lord Dunn-Raven” Stradivariuses, will close the program with a display of her virtuosic skills in a performance of Tartini’s explosive Devil’s Trill.
