Building a Future for Technological Innovation

Aneesh Chopra, was sworn in by President Obama May, 2009 to be the nation’s first Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Chopra is charged with advancing the President’s ambitious technology agenda by fostering new ideas and making the government more efficient and transparent. Since his appointment, Chopra has sought to use information technology to raise public awareness about President Obama’s policies on healthcare, energy and the environment. Chopra will discuss how investing in technological innovation is a crucial aspect of job creation, reducing healthcare costs, and protecting the country. Prior to his appointment as CTO, he worked as Virginia’s secretary of technology for four years.
