Ancora - Scandinavia: Songs of the Sea June 8, 2008

Ancora is a women's choir based in Seattle, Washington, under the direction of Dr. Jerome Wright and Tess Orozco. They will present choral works from various Nordic countries. Ancora will showcase a suite of four Finnish pieces, entitled Lauluja Mereltä (Songs from the Sea), and will include other Finnish works, such as Finlandia and Vesi Väsyy Lumen Alle (Water Under Snow is Weary), a piece based on the Kalevala tune. Other featured selections originate from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Estonia.

Refreshments are generously provided by United Finnish Kaleva Brothers & Sisters, Seattle Lodge # 11.
