Free Event- Open to All Ages
Thirty years ago Punk Rock conquered the nation. Far beyond the King's Road, Punk became part of life on every high street. It was the anarchic voice of Britain's rebellious youth and a thorn in the side of those busy enjoying the Queen's Jubilee celebrations.
The BFI's new state-of-the-art Mediatheque centre (offering unparalleled access to material held in the BFI National Archive) revives the spirit of Punk with a collection of film and television material that tells the story of the music, its fans and its effect on the UK.
As well as being able to access the film and television material for free we've also got a day of events planned that have a distinctly 'Punky' theme! From screenings and discussions to live music and 'hands-on' events.
