R. Crumb emgerged from the 60s as pioneer of the comic idustry and a crusader of the first ammendment. Characters such as Fritz the Cat, Mr. Natural and Devil Girl propelled him to fame in San Francisco's underground. Crumb's unique style and controversial subject matter gained its due recognition in the mid-'80s.
