Presented by OUTSIDERS INN COLLECTIVE with REACT THEATRE. This spring has marked the 100th birthday anniversary of one of the 20th century's most prominent writers, Samuel Beckett. In honor of this occasion, a staged reading will be held here as part of a national observance of his work's prominence. Also prominent are the publication by Grove Press of Samuel Beckett: The Grove Centenary Edition, a four-volume set edited by Paul Auster, available both individually and in a handsome boxed set. "Poet, novelist, short-story writer, playwright, translator, and critic, Samuel Beckett created one of the most brilliant and enduring bodies of work in twentieth-century literature...Open anywhere and begin reading. It is an experience unequaled anywhere in the universe of words." - Paul Auster. Reading selections tonight will be members of Outsider's Inn, comprised of present and former Elliott Bay booksellers Greg Berry, Vladimir Verano, Jim Brimble (see www.outsiders-inn.com) and others, including ReAct Theatre, presenting a staging of Beckett's short abstraction Ohio Impromptu (see www.reacttheatre.org). Don't miss this unique event!
