Virtuoso cellist Amy Sue Barston will premiere Red Herring, a work by the young, outstanding composer Adam Silverman, for unaccompanied cello. This is three pieces in one, all inspired by different sorts of music: a wedding ballad based on a Gertrude Stein poem (?I love my love with a v?), an art-rock tune (?Oswald?s Groove?), and a mesmerizing bit of psychedelia, based on Bach?s G Major cello Prelude and imitating the sound of a Hammond organ (?Leslie?). Also on the recital will be Franck?s Sonata in A Major, featuring pianist Jonathan Yates.

Admission: $15
