Amira Medunjanin is one of Europe’s finest and most soulful exponents of sevdah, the melancholy, yearning Balkan answer to the blues. Robin Deneslow of The Guardian waxes lyrical, describing Amira’s singing as ‘exquisite, clear and pained’ likening the sound to Cape Verdean morna. No surprise then that she has been compared to Billie Holiday and Cesaria Evora.

This concert features songs from her latest critically lauded album Amulette, where she is joined by the jazz trio of Bojan Z (piano), Nenad Vasilic (double bass) and Bachar Khalife (percussion).
