Overview:
The fifteenth annual American Sewing Expo features sewing, quilting,
home dcor, needle and fiber arts and includes celebrities, experts,
exhibits, free stage demonstrations, over 100 seminars daily, hands-on
workshops, competitions, young sewer programs, fashion style shows,
contests and over 300 vendor booths.

stars, Sewing Today TV expert, professor of haute couture program

New Yorks Fashion Institute of Technology and book author, as he
shares his resources, ideas and creativity Cool Tricks classes and Birth of a Bustier workshop

Meet the Sistahs of Harlem, Carmen Webber and Carmia Marshall, from
Bravo Project Runway and E Networks Look for Less, as they
show off their version of street couture, a mixture of urban street fashion and
high Parisian style during their classes on eco-friendly ways to
recycle denim or how to revamp your wardrobe with little to no money.

Have fun with sock monsters as seen on HGTV and in the Washington Post
created by John Murphy of Stupid Creatures Toy Company and author of
Stupid Sock Creatures (Make and Take childrens hand puppet
project and classes on making stuffed toy patterns or weird, wacky and funny sock creations from cast-off socks)

Notice Sew Everything Workshop author Diana Rupp who founded and
runs the New York Make Workshop that teaches everything from how to
use a sewing machine to spinning your own yarn demonstrate how to sew fabric scraps and thread together to create a handmade greeting card for
holidays and special occasions and instruct a class on making designer
throw pillows

Watch the Baby Lock Passion For Fashion Sewing Challenge as 12
finalists design and sew their garments beginning Friday and finishing Saturday at the expo (similar to Bravo Project Runway)

View quilts that were created to be other than traditional in nature
for the A Touch of Magic Art of the Quilt contest display

Special exhibits will display innovative and traditional quilts,
needlework, 2007 Passion for Fashion winners collection, wearable
art and home dcor items.

Enjoy the Innovation Generation Fashion Show Competition as 8 to 18
year old contestants wear their own prejudged entries on the Expo Fashion
Stage (Sept. 27)

Take part in the Sew Experience Cafe and learn unique tips and
techniques while making your own sewing and embellishing project to
