Host: The Heritage Foundation. Join us to learn more about the American Film Renaissance Festival and AFR’s endeavors to recognize films and filmmakers who are committed to promoting America’s founding principles in our popular culture.
American Film Renaissance, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization, celebrates timeless American values through the production, distribution and showcasing of films that reflect the enduring and inspiring principles of individual freedom (including free speech, free enterprise and freedom of worship), rugged individualism and the triumph of the human spirit, and through supporting filmmakers who share this mission.
In addition to hosting the annual film festival, American Film Renaissance has expanded to include filmmaker training programs and film production. AFR’s first Filmmaker’s Workshop, where participants were selected through a competitive application process and received full scholarships to attend, took place in August on the UCLA campus. Last year, AFR also began the production of two feature-length documentary films.
Selected documentary trailers from films to be featured in October’s American Film Renaissance Festival here in Washington, D.C. will be screened as part of our program.
