Harvard's collection of American paintings and sculpture is among the most distinguished yet least known in the United States. The University has been collecting portraits of its presidents, preeminent teachers and other notables since the early 18th century. This installation includes such icons as John Singleton Copley's 'Nicholas Boylston,' Albert Bierstadt's 'Rocky Mountains,' Lander's Peak, and Charles Sheeler's 'Upper Deck.'
