Alvin Mayes's La Familia is a collection of dances celebrating the love, bond and whimsy of family relationships. The concert features performances by dancers from all over the region; including the Maryland Dance Ensemble in Por Las Niña and the Sleepover, Tommy Parlon and Julia Smith Dance Projects in How Did We Get This Far?, Bowen McCauley Dance in Hand Me Down Trousers, the Maryland Youth Ballet in Moon of My First Love and other dancers from the DC metro area. Also featured is a capella singing group Not What You Think, performing music of Dr. Ysaye Barnwell and Holly Near.
$20 general admission; $15 members, students, teachers (PreK-12), professional artists & seniors; $7 for children 17 & under
