Literary Dinner - Alton House Hotel
Three authors speaking: Robert Rankin
Robert Rankin has written 30 novels containing, in his own words, farfetched fiction. He tried his hand at many things before discovering his true calling as a writer with his first published novel ‘The Antipope’
in 1981. He still continues to dabble with the music, illustration and sculpture, including producing artwork for his book covers. Robert has a large and devoted following, many of whom belong to ‘The Order of the Golden Sprout’. His 30th book ‘Necrophenia’ was launched in 2008.

Jack Sheffield
Jack Sheffield trained to be a teacher at St John’s College, York. In the early 70s he taught in Keighley, West Yorkshire, later becoming headteacher of two schools in North Yorkshire. Finally he became
Senior Lecturer in Primary Education at Bretton Hall College, University of Leeds. It was at this time he began to record his many amusing stories of village life. Jack shares his time between York and Hampshire.

Paulo Dorsa
Paolo Dorsa was born in Naples, Italy, to a Brazilian father and an Italian mother. His job as a manager of an Italian bank lead him to live in Naples, Rome, Paris, Zurich, Los Angeles, New York, Hong Kong and
finally England before retiring in 1997. His first novel “Il Mercante”, partially autobiographical, was published in Italy in 2006 and has now been translated into English. He now spends his time between England and the island of Corsica where he is writing his second novel.
