Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the first greek-letter organization established by African-Americans, hold its 102nd Anniversary General Convention July 17-21 in Kansas City, Mo. Beta Lambda Alumni Chapter, the Fraternity's first graduate chapter west of the Mississippi River, is the host.

Public events and activities are planned for Bartle Hall, the Marriott Hotel Downtown, the new Power & Light District, the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District and entertainment venues throughout Kansas City.

Alpha Phi Alpha was founded in 1906 at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. Now in its second century of leadership, Alpha Phi Alpha remains a champion for academic excellence, community service and economic achievement. The annual General Convention draws thousands of Alpha Men from North America and around the world.
