This special all-female-cast assembled by the ALMA NYC crew, is sure to bring the sexiest sounds we?ve heard yet to this ongoing ?Neo-Brasilian Fusion? monthly. And if you?ve been following this authentic homegrown ruckus of a night at Sullivan Room (even if it?s just by photo galleries), you know that DJ True and Miller Cruz have blazed the place with the hottest guests in the game. We expect the ladies; Jeannie Hopper, Mia Friday, Lola, Jenifa Mayanja and a host of musicians to create a total meltdown. They will be gracing us with a stellar musical playlist that will include Brazilian, Latin, World, Afro and soulful house beats accompanied by a crew of the fiercest female musicians in the NYC Latin scene.

Jeannie Hopper is best known for her long running radio show ?Liquid Sound Lounge? on WBAI FM NY and her independent record label of the same name (LSL). You can catch her DJ?ing around NYC and globetrotting all over the world bringing the underground scenes together as a musical ambassador and cultural activist.
Mia Friday?s music focuses on the B-sides of records, searching for those danceable songs that have been passed over. Her unique style has earned residences at the ?Tea Party?, ?Ubiquita? and guest appearances at ?The Shelter? and ?Flowers in Da Attic? and most recently the ?Sacred Rhythm? Party at Love.
Lola?s interest in how dancers danced and how DJs selected music inspired her to tell her friend Eric "E-Man" Clark, then an up-and-coming DJ who had just launched ?Bang the Party?, that she wanted to try her hand at DJing. The rest, as they say, is history. She?s founded ?Deep See? with E-Man and ?Beyond? at APT and now rocks dancefloors around the globe.
The world Jenifa grew up in, Uganda, was a mixture of ancient traditions/folklore, nature and the funky sounds of disco, reggae, & soukous. Since 1995, she?s been living In New York City as a Musician/DJ/Singer achieving respect in her profession and doing what she loves most, which reflects in her recordings and DJ sets at ?Bu-Mako?.

Please Note: This celebration is dedicated to women, this does not mean that it is just for female attendees. What it means is; if you have a special woman in your life and you want to show her love, honor and respect?BRING HER!!! ;o)
