Alltel Announces "My Community, My Choice" Winners in Lincoln October 30, 2007

For the past four weeks, Lincoln residents have voted online and via text message to select the winning charity in the Alltel Wireless “My Community, My Choice” challenge. Residents had the opportunity to vote for three worthy Lincoln-area charitable initiatives: the Food Bank of Lincoln, the Lincoln-Lancaster County Habitat for Humanity and the Lincoln Parks Foundation. Alltel, America’s largest network, providing coverage across the nation, is proud to announce that the Lincoln Parks Foundation is the winning charity and will receive a $25,000 donation—a $15,000 check and $10,000 worth of supplies and materials.

Alltel also announced that all three organizations will receive their respective donations at a special ceremony to take place 11 a.m., today, at the Alltel Wireless retail store located at 4815 Old Cheney Road. Representatives of each charity will be present to accept the donation from Alltel and will speak about their involvement in the program and the planned use of the donated materials and supplies.
