Celebrate Spring with a musical bouquet from Allison Crowe and guest, Andrew James O’Brien. The internationally acclaimed vocalist/pianist, born on Vancouver Island, is home these days in Corner Brook. She’s delighted to present her own show on the A&C mainstage where she’s joined the “Beary Merry Christmas Variety Show” and, most recently, TNL’s Sexy and Dangerous troupe. Allison Crowe’s repertoire stirs together original songs with much-loved interpretations from the popular songbook in an organic blend of rock, jazz, folk, Broadway, gospel and soul.

"Ever wonder what it would have been like to listen to a gifted singer/songwriter from Saskatchewan in a small, intimate hall before she became Joni Mitchell? Don't fret the missed opportunity. There's no need to turn back the clock. Check out Allison Crowe," says Robert Reid in The Record.

Descended from Scottish, Irish, and Manx stock, Allison Crowe has a wild spirit and energy. “I love singing for people,” she says. “It's a way to connect and share with others. Just being able to do what I do, to write and sing and perform, makes me feel not only alive, but incredibly lucky. Knowing at any moment everything could change, I don't take one second for granted." On her own label she’s released five critically and commercially successful CD albums. Robert Moyes, of Boulevard Magazine, says: "Crowe's originals are vivid, both musically and lyrically, and she also does memorable covers. Joni Mitchell's ‘A Case of You’ has a stark beauty while her version of ‘I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)’ would give Aretha Franklin goose-bumps."

“Treat yourself to one of the mightiest talents on the singer-songwriter scene today," says Bob Muller, of JoniMitchell.com. Allison Crowe’s joyous sound is described by one music critic as 'Elton John meets Edith Piaf'. At the John Lennon Northern Lights Festival in Scotland, this past Fall, “Canadian angel Alison Crowe gave one of the weekend's most magical moments," says The Scotsman. Festival Director Mike Merritt describes Crowe as "awesome" and "spine-tingling" - she “put hairs on the back of your neck! She brought the house down." Ross Hocker of NPR Radio calls Allison Crowe's performance "the most honest, heartfelt, and directly intimate concert in my entire life."

Contributing as well to this Spring celebration is Andrew James O'Brien, a young troubador from Mount Pearl. Citing as influences such classic tunesmiths as Ron Sexmith, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens and Paul Simon, thoughtful lyrics and sincere vocals define his musical sound. The songs of Andrew James O’Brien are rooted in personal experience and invite you in to share their stories of “love, loss, hurt, life and how crazy it can get. That kind of thing.”
