Allerseelen
--
The Austrian group Allerseelen have been active
and innovative in the industrial and apocalyptic
folk genre for many years. Their CDs and 7" editions
have been issued on Aorta and their double-LP
editions on Ahnstern. The most recent releases of
Allerseelen were the CD Hallstatt, the double-LPs
Gotos=Kalanda and Cruor as well as the Allerseelen
/ Sangre Cavallum split CD Barco do Vinho (Ahnstern)
and the Allerseelen / Changes split CD Men among the
Ruins (Ewers Tonkunst). Allerseelen is a unique
combination of industrial and folkloristic elements,
and "Industrial Folklore" might be an appropriate
expression to embrace these seemingly contradictory
qualities. Allerseelen have performed in many European
countries as well as in North America and Russia. On
stage, the songs quite often manifest very differently
from the studio versions. The dynamic stage presence
of the martial drummer Dimo of the Bulgarian
group Svarrogh, the dynamic bass player Marcel
of the German groups Werra and Halgadom, and the front
man Gerhard all contribute toward a unique mood
of "Apocalyptic Krautfolk" for these live performances.

"Allerseelen have reached a unique point with their
"industrial folklore" songs; a highly individual sound
drawing on elements of folk, industrial, pop.. that are
combined thorough some highly evolved sampling."

"The choice of poetry and quality of music here are impeccable."

"Allerseelen represent a standard of excellence that
is almost unheard of in the world today. The music of
Gerhard is, by intent and effect, a spiritual experience.
If you have ever doubted the ability of art to destroy
and re-create those who will let themselves be touched by
it, immerse yourself obsessively in his work, and see who
you are when you come out the other side."

The main project of Allerseelen's live drummer,
this avante garde Bulgarian Black Metal act will
be performing a special folk set for us.
Here's what they have to say about themselves:
"AVANTGARDE BULGARIAN MUSIC Always on the look
for new horizons, SVARROGH has always been some
kind of avantgarde music. No borders...infinity.
The ideology of the lyrics is dark nature
romanticism, apocalyptic folklore rhymes and poems,
bulgarian poems in the period of 1850-1930,
tangra spiritualism, slavian heathendom, european
culture, eastern esoteric, bulgarian and slavian
mythology. Grey melancholy, ghosts from the ancient
past, oceans of sorrow and solitude.
A white and a black sun shining, hope, love..."

Fimbulvetr
--
One of a very small handful of clubs in the UK with
similar playlists; Fimbulvetr specialises in dark
atmospheric music; playing a genre-crossing mix of
post-industrial, dark/black ambient, neo-folk,
neo-classical, noise, post-rock, ethereal,
experimental electronic, noise and related styles.

Now entering our third year as a club, in the past we
have presented several high-profile gigs, including
legendary singer Rose McDowall (Strawberry Switchblade,
Current 93, Coil, Death In June, Psychic TV, etc),
American neofolk act In Gowan Ring, UK cinematic
post-rock duo SonVer and Sieben (the solo project of
the multitalented violinist Matt Howden (Sol Invictus,
etc)).

The name "Fimbulvetr" refers to the three-year winter
preceeding the end of the world in norse mythology.
