Alasdair Roberts is a musician/artist based in Glasgow. Primarily a singer and acoustic fingerstyle guitarist, his work consists of the interpretation and arrangement of traditional ballads as well as the writing and composition of new songs which draw extensively on the traditional musical and folkloric stock of Scotland and beyond. In 2011 he worked with the puppeteer Shane Connolly of Sokobauno Puppet Theatre on a new version of the Scottish folk play Galoshins. He has also compiled and annotated the LP Whaur the Pig Gaed on the Spree which features recordings of traditional music and song made by the American folklorist Alan Lomax in Scotland in the 1950s. Roberts’ new album is called A Wonder Working Stone.
