Alabama Shakes October 1, 2012

Brittany Howard and Zac Cockrell met in a high school psychology class in Athens, AL. After emulating a David Bowie-style sound they found their own and added in drummer Steve Johnson. The trio met guitarist Heath Fogg while at a studio in Decatur, AL recording some of the songs they were writing. He joined the band after hearing their demo. The group made MTV's list of 11 Artists To Watch In 2012.
