Famous dance critic and scholar Padmshri Dr. Sunil Kothari will introduce the concert and present the uniqueness, common foundations and the challenges in the two dance styles, helping in better understanding the theme for the uninitiated.

‘Ajanta Comes Alive’ is inspired by unique elements of wondrous creative masterpiece - World heritage sites of Ajanta & Ellora. Prerana Deshpande the conceptualizer has dedicated this production to the 'Unknown artists' .

Ajanta & Ellora are creations not of an artist or a generation of artists. It is a creation of untiring, selfless creative activity (Karma) of several generations of artists in the period spanning 2nd century BC to 8th century AD. On one hand Ajanta & Ellora caves present our history of confluence of various cultures, generations and harmonious co-existence of religions in a most admirable way. While on the other hand, these creations demonstrate exceptional vision of the creators and their ability to pass on the skill & mastery over the art to subsequent generations along with motivation to pursue their unfinished task (Destiny – going beyond one’s lifetime).
