The Affiliate Artists Program awards partially subsidized participation in an immersive studio practice program to approximately 20 Bay Area artists annually. Affiliates receive subsidized studio space, located in Fort Barry Building 960, an artist-rehabilitated, former military building with three levels and 20 studios in total. Affiliate Artists are active participants in Headlands' peer-to-peer-driven creative community and benefit from engagement with local, national, and international artists participating in Headlands' other programs.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
*100- to 400- sq.-foot studios
*Studios are subsidized, with approximately 50% of the cost of the program underwritten by Headlands
*Facilities access:(- Communal kitchen and meeting space in studio building(- Basic woodshop(- Artists' library with computers, scanner, and printer
*Discounts on chef-prepared meals in our Mess Hall five nights per week, March to December
*Participation in monthly "Show and Tell" nights
*Public presentation opportunities including Participation in three seasonal Open Houses

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
*Live in the San Francisco Bay Area
*Work primarily in visual arts, film/video, writing, social practices, architecture or design
*Are not currently enrolled in an academic program

ARTISTS PROGRAMS AT HEADLANDS
Artists Programs are designed to support artists, the creative process, and the development of new, important work. These programs provide opportunities for research, experimentation, professional development, and peer-to-peer exchange-and ultimately aim to foster creative breakthroughs and new modes of working and thinking.
