Advanced RMAN with Arup Nanda (RO) November 17, 2010

RMAN is now undoubtedly the best backup method for Oracle databases right now. This session starts with the basics of RMAN but quickly moves on to the intermediate to advanced topics.

You will learn how to evaluate the performance of RMAN jobs and improve them, if necessary; how to use image copies and incremental merge to keep the backups always at full level without ever taking a full backup; how to configure and check block media tracking; how to check for failures and configure automatic health checks; how to perform block media recovery and check the integrity of the database while it’s up and running.

The session will have a lot of real life cases with scripts the attendees can take away to use at their shop.
