A CARA worker will explain different types of adoption and offer a
step-by-step outline to adopting a child. Project Connecticut's Child, a
grant funded program seeking to find families to adopt children from CT
state foster care at no or minimum cost, will be presented. Domestic private
infant adoption as well as international adoption will be covered as well.

Participants will leave with a folder of resources to help guide families, couples, or individuals wishing to adopt domestically through private or foster care adoption. Families especially needed to adopt African American or part African American children of all ages through private adoption.

Learn how to grow your family through adoption!

Infront

Just Know the Pros and Cons
I have adopted 3 children 8 year old boy 11 year old girl 2 year old boy. Keep in mind when adopting older children most have been badly abused. Even younger children tend to have issues you will not find a pregnant girl in college who accidently got pregnant.
Stories of mothers giving children up for adoption tend not to be pretty. Be careful if you have younger children already in your house because your family life is going to completely change.
This is not a knock on adoption I 've done it three times and was involved in helping place older children in good homes for adoption. But please talk to someone that has adopted so you will know what to expect. I know many families that have adopted and its nice to be able to confide with people who have been there and understand where you are coming from.
You can make a difference just realize the journey is long with many bumps in the road.
