Dr. Arthur C. Brooks is an expert on public policy and economics who has published extensively on social entrepreneurship and the connections between culture, politics, and economic life. A behavioral economist by training, he has written three books on the social value and economic impact of nonprofits and charitable giving, including: Who Really Cares: America's Charity Divide - Who Gives, Who Doesn't, and Why It Matters; Gross National Happiness: Why Happiness Matters for America - and How We Can Get More of It; and Social Entrepreneurship: A Modern Approach to Social Value Creation. Until January 1, 2009, Dr. Brooks was the Louis A. Bantle Professor of Business and Government Policy at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Dr. Brooks earned his Ph.D. in Public Policy Analysis from the Rand Graduate School and holds an MA and BA in economics.
