DREAM INTO DUST [12mid]
http://www.dreamintodust.com
After years of releasing CDs to underground acclaim under various names (including A Murder of Angels, Of Unknown Origin, and 4th Sign of the Apocalypse), Dream Into Dust are focusing on live shows.  Their current set centers on melancholy folk punctuated by textured noise, framing plaintive tenor and bruised acoustic guitar with drum samples, driving bass, and waves of effects. Features experimental guitarist Bryin Dall, best known for his work with Genesis P-Orridge (Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV) in spoken word/sound collage project Thee Majesty, as well as adding to the noise on the last Angels of Light album. Bryin frequently plays guitar with a machete.
"combines the apocalyptic folk that World Serpent-related artists are known for but expands to incorporate industrial distortion and sampling..." [Fall of Because]
"a heady mix of cybernetics and organics, with lush acoustic guitars and warm singing contrasting with dissonant percussion samples" [High Bias]

AKRON/FAMILY (Young God Records) [11pm]

"Delicate, trenchant songs, semi-acoustic-based with really beautiful and pure vocal melodies and words, bleeding into vast, evolving improvised soundscapes, always with an organic and human feel. There's four musicians in the group, and they all sit down when they play, trading off vocals and harmonies, surrounded by a thousand primitive electronic and acoustic gizmos and other assorted instruments." [Michael Gira - Angels of Light, ex-Swans]

GRANDVIEW GRAMMAR (members of STARS LIKE FLEAS) [10pm]

Equal parts Microstoria, Erik Satie, Morton Feldman, and Kevin Drumm.
